When I was in Catholic school the girls had to wear skirts and knee-high socks. The hem of the skirt had to touch the ground when kneeling. Some girls would roll their waste bands to make their skirts shorter. The nuns would often make random skirt checks if they thought the hem was too short. Violators were given detention.
Some of the younger guys at the gym have started wearing knee-high black socks. Add in a pair of below-the-knee black baggy workout pants and the guys look like the Catholic grade school girls from my youth. I find this trend rather odd.

Interesting, there is a large Catholic presence here, they have a very large school system in this Diocese.

What is strange about those outfits is that you dress up for the gym in public but then on your iPhone you put naked selfies to show off muscles. I wonder what goes on in their heads and why would they want to dress up that way given it is not the most practical for the gym. Again this phenomenon of presenting nude selfies on the net, it is a bit like saying I am to be desirable but not in a gym only on the net. Insecurity? I often note that young men who have those sculpted bodies are usually very insecure about a lot. Strange comment on our society.
I think it has a lot do with insecurity and conforming with the rest of the pack.
