I went to beer bust on Sunday with Mack to officially end our summer. Double AA showed up followed by Paddy (I still need to do a Paddy post) a few minutes later. Paddy was soon joined by a young guy he hooked up with three times but whose name he couldn’t remember. I asked the guy his name so I could text it to Paddy. The guy was listed in Paddy’s phone as “the asian”. Paddy soon changed it to Manny.
Mack and I thought most of the DJ’s set was pretty good. There was something for everyone. Many trips down memory lane. The Smiths, Peter Murphy, Madonna and The B52’s come to mind. Then he played the long version of The Corrosion by The Sisters of Mercy. Mack and I, being fans of industrial music, were in hog heaven.
Double A headed to the Eagle after a while. Mack, Paddy, Manny and I stayed until a little after eight. Then we were off to Ace for their usually good food, but that night, turned out to be mediocre. Dinner ended up being a lot fun because of the conversation. Mack and I headed home after dinner while Paddy and Manny headed to Charlie’s for one last drink.
The DJ set motivated me to listen to bands I haven’t listened to in a while. I’ve been playing the Best of The Sisters of Mercy, Depeche Mode, Björk, Joy Division, Eurythmics and New Order all week. I’ve been reminiscing all week.
