Double A asked me to be his plus one at a wedding reception tonight. Double A introduced me to the happy couple two weeks ago. The guys got married on Wednesday. It was a small ceremony since the couple have been together for twenty years. The wedding reception is also serving as a fund raiser for ALS, better known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. Donations to ALS have been requested in lieu of gifts. The reception is being held at the guy’s house in Stapleton, the former Denver airport which has been redeveloped into a master planned community.
I’ll be skipping the gallery tour tonight. Paddy wanted me to go to Mai Wyn’s and help him select a painting for his house but I’d already committed to go with Double A. I’m going to be Paddy’s plus one at the Bentley Denver charity polo game on Sunday. Proceeds will benefit the American Heart Association. Thankfully, Paddy was gifted with VIP tickets by a client.
In the meantime, enjoy this Karen Roehl painting currently on view at Ice Cube. Ice Cube will be closing this month. Another victim of the rising rents in RiNo. The gallery will reopen in a few months at Con-Cept, a new arts compound being developed by Jeanie Nuances King in Commerce City.
