Yesterday, at the polo match, Paddy came clean. Paddy told me he invited me to the polo match because he was afraid his now live-in boyfriend would get drunk and make a scene. Paddy knew I would dress properly and could navigate the ins and outs of the polo culture.
Paddy moved the guy in a week after Cindi and I advised him not to live together. Paddy now regrets the decision. The guy just can’t have one or two drinks. He’ll down five cocktails and move on to shots. During a heated argument, the guy threw both of Paddy’s phones into the toilet. Rather childish behavior for a twenty-eight-year-old. It looks like the end is near.
I had fun at the polo match. Paddy’s friends, Mary (real estate developer), Kara (salon owner and stylist) and Paula (salon owner and Botox injectionist) were a lot of fun. The food was good and the liquor flowed. The dealer had many Bentleys and Rolls Royce (trademark restrictions do not allow Rolls Royce to be used in the plural) along with a number of Ferraris. Unfortunately, Colorado law prevents cars with dealer plates from being driven on Sunday so I didn’t get to test drive the new Bentley Bentayga (SUV). Attendees on Saturday were able to take the SUV off-road.
Even though it was hot as hell, it was a fun day. The crowed was well-dressed and good looking. Free food and drinks, along with enjoyable people, made it a great day. No one got drunk and caused a scene.
