I went to Qdoba (it’s like Chipotle) yesterday for lunch. I had a chicken burrito and a soda. The bill was ten dollars and change. The lady in front of me bought lunch for herself and her two children. The tab came to a little over $31.00. The lady didn’t request anything special, just a few tacos and two burritos.
Normally, I don’t think about the price of eating out or other things I buy. I have the luxury of being able to buy what I want and not pay attention to the cost. I was shocked that it cost the woman $31.00 dollars for lunch. It got me thinking about the cost of raising children. Parents must spend an outrageous amount of money on their children just to give them the basics and to eat out a few times a month. It’s no wonder most families I know have two incomes.
I guess I’m out of touch with the reality of most people’s lives.
